Rule 21 & Regulations
Continuing legal education in Tennessee is governed by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 21. Under the Rule and its accompanying regulations, the Commission staff administers the provisions and provides day-to-day operational support to attorneys and providers.

October 10, 2025: Supreme Court Amends Rule 21 to Align BPR, CLE Statuses
November 1, 2022: The Tennessee Supreme Court amended Rule 21 to eliminate all distance-learning requirements. Attorneys may earn all CLE hours online or via other distance learning methods.
